Who am I, Who are You? What is the best You?

I want you to take a moment to think about the ‘absolute BEST you’ and what that person would be like.  Close your eyes and picture that Best YOU!   [This list was read out loud to the Toastmasters group.]

Would that person be:

Friendly?  Have inner confidence that didn’t seem bold and brash, but seemed relaxed and calm?

Would that person make small sacrifices to help others become a little better off?

Would that person allow others to shine and not feel at a loss?

Would that person illuminate a path for wanderers to guide them to higher ground?

Would that person reveal the joy and wonder of connecting with each other and sharing on a journey?

Would that person lend an ear and a heart to listen, to really be silent and undistracting, and taking in the speaking of others.

Would that person be encouraging and authentic?  Would that person be balanced and aligned?

Would that person foster an environment of self courage and good deeds?

Would that person desire to be a catalyst in others to achieve more than they imagined?

Would that person all things alone, especially when help and support are needed and offered?

Would the help be accepted with open arms and without thought of individual dues or repayment?

Would that person help others see the positives and benefits within conflict and struggle?

Would that person in others joining hands and doing something together?

Would that person force or coerce others to do their bidding?

Would that person force or coerce others if deemed well, even though unbeknownst to them?

What could you call such a person if you needed to label with a name for reference?

Whatever that name may be, would you aspire to be as such???

What if the name is leader?

Is that acceptable to be called of that you deeply desire?

Please open your eyes.

Yes, you yearn to BE a leader.

So as a person who invites others to fulfill their purpose, the question is no longer Who Am I. It is Who Are You.

Every one of us IS and SHOULD BE a leader.
We lead others to being their best self, to being better and better in character and knowledge every day.
